Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant went through a surgery for his torn right Achilles tendon after the incident that happened during the Game 5 of NBA Finals between Warriors and Toronto Raptors.
KAMI learned that on Instagram, Durant shared his journey after he got his Achilles tendon ruptured.
"What's good everybody I wanted to update you all: I did rupture my Achilles. Surgery was today and it was a success, EASY MONEY," Durant wrote.
"My road back starts now! I got my family and my loved ones by my side and we truly appreciate all the messages and support people have sent our way,” he added.
Durant also expressed his love for basketball and his team despite getting injured.
“Basketball is my biggest love and I wanted to be out there that night because that’s what I do,” he noted.
“I wanted to help my teammates on our quest for the three peat,” Durant added.
The Golden State Warriors also released an official statement about the update of Durant's injury.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, the announcement of Durant came right after the workout of Warriors on the eve of Game 6.
As previously reported by KAMI, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors in the Game 5 of NBA Finals. However, Durant got re-injured in the 2nd quarter of the game but still managed to chip in 11 points.
