- The presidential entourage of President Duterte during his Japan trip became controversial this year
- Celebrities who were invited to the entourage were questioned by netizens whether or not the trip was self-funded
- Bayani Agbayani finally broke his silence over the issue and clarified who paid for his fare and trip
President Rodrigo Duterte’s 4-day working visit to Japan back in May of 2019 together with 200 government officials has sparked controversy among netizens online.
It can be recalled that local celebrities were even invited to be part of the entourage.
Some of the celebrities who attended were Bayani Agbayani, Robin Padilla, Phillip Salvador, Rodjun Cruz, and Dianne Medina.
Aside from this, it can also be worth noting that Rodjun and Dianne were heavily questioned by netizens as to whether or not the government funded their trip.
KAMI learned that Bayani finally aired his two cents regarding the controversy and has also clarified who funded his trip to Japan.
In a video shared by MJ Felipe, ABS-CBN’s entertainment journalist, Bayani shared that while the government did pay for the trip, they only flew economy and that no talent fee was given to them.
Walang bayad, walang bayad kahit singko.”
His response also elicited reactions from netizens online. Here are some of their comments from entertainment site Fashion Pulis.
“Umamin kasi wala naman talagang any other explanation.”
“Yan ang gusto ko sa lalaki, umaamin!”
“At least itong si bayani, direct to the point kaya ok siya. For me kasi, tanggap ko kahit sino ang sinusuportahan, kanya-kanya lang naman yan eh, pero pag nagdesisyong magbigay ng paliwanag, wala ng paligoy-ligoy pa at magsabi ng totoo.”
“I appreciate his honesty. Samantalang yung iba todo deny.”
“So he just proved that Diana Medina was lying when she said she paid for her own ticket.”
As reported earlier by KAMI, ‘Home Sweetie Home’ held its press conference for the new cast last Thursday, May 16, 2019. Bayani Agbayani, one of the new casts in the show, shared how his meeting with John Lloyd Cruz went during the thanksgiving dinner at Malacañang.
Bayani Agbayani is one of the most effective and veteran comedians in the Philippines. He was a part of the always-trending show entitled “I Can See Your Voice.”
