- Shopee has recently released a statement regarding the issues about the meet and greet event of the Korean pop group BLACKPINK
- It was after the online shopping platform was accused by some fans of scamming some users who spent huge money just to get tickets for the said event
- However, their apology still received hate comments from netizens
Shopee PH has released an official statement about the big issues that were created during Shopee x BLACKPINK meet-and-greet.
Based on ABS-CBN News' Twitter account, Shopee PH admitted that they had some shortcomings.
They also apologized to all the fans and users who participated in their promotion.
"All of us at Shopee would like to sincerely apologize to users and fans of Shopee and BLACKPINK for the issues involving the Shopee x BLACKPINK meet-and-greet today in Manila."
“The event fell short of the high standards that Shopee users and BLACKPINK fans expect, and we hear our community’s feedback loud and clear. Although we took immediate steps as soon as we discovered our errors to ensure the rightful winners of our contest could claim their prizes, we know that the entire process caused confusion, disappointment, and upset for many Shopee users and BLACKPINK fans. We are reaching out to all those affected by this issue, and we are also taking steps to ensure that such an incident does not occur again in the future.”
SHOPEE PH's official statement still elicited hate comments from netizens.
Some of them even dared to file legal actions against the online shopping platform.
"Please don't get them as the endorsers kung ganyan lang din ang pagtrato nyo sa kanila."
"The DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE......"
"unacceptable reason. The damage has been done. Should file legal action #SHOPEESCAM"
"Stop patronizing Shopee!
File the appropriate charges!"
It can be recalled that a lot of fans complained and accused Shopee PH of scamming some users who spent lots of money just to have a ticket for the event.
The topic #ShopeeScam even trended on Twitter overnight because of the issue.
