Davao Oriental was hit by a magnitude 6.2 earthquake, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
KAMI learned that the earthquake happened earlier today, May 31, 2019, at 6:12 p.m.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, had its epicenter traced 75 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso town with a depth of 76 kms.
According to the Phivolcs report, it is not expected to cause damage to properties in the areas affected. However, there is a possibility of aftershocks.
KAMI previously reported that Batangas was struck by a 4.2 magnitude earthquake.
The country is expected to be hit soon by a huge earthquake called “The Big One,” which is projected to cause the deaths of thousands living in Metro Manila.
