Former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman and incumbent Marikina City Rep. Bayani Fernando suggested setting colorum vehicles on fire to totally wipe them out.
KAMI learned in a report by the GMA News (author Erwin Colcol), Fernando suggested that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) should start a clean slate and impose “draconian measures.”
"Para matigil na lahat ang colorum, bigyan na muna ang lahat. And that will give us political reason to pass a law that will impose that draconian measure. Kapag nahuli kang colorum, wala na yun, sunog,"
"Ni hindi pipiyesahin. Kapag pinyesa mo babalik pa ulit ang piyesa na yun sa kalye. Sunog na para hindi na talaga pakikinabangan. And in front of everybody so everybody will see,” he added.
Nicanor Escalante of the Hype Transport Systems claimed that Grab Philippines of monopolizing transport network vehicle services market.
Escalante noted that the filed a petition against Grab for reportedly using 22,000 colorum vehicles.
