Some residents in Salcedo, Ilocos Sur, give away free ripe mangoes due to oversupply. KAMI learned that the residents placed the ripe mangoes in a plastic bag and hung it on their backyard.
Under it was a cardboard with a text “Free.” Their neighbors or any passers-by are free to get the mangoes.
As reported by the GMA News (author Joviland Rita), the residents said that it is better to give away the mangoes for free instead of letting it rot and just be wasted.
