Senator-elect Imee Marcos believes that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Caprio would be the “strongest” presidential bet in the 2022 polls.
KAMI also learned the thoughts of Marcos on running as a president.
"I don't think it's [presidency] in my mind right now," Marcos told ANC.
Marcos also explained why she thought Sara could be a great presidential candidate.
“Sa akin, the strongest presidential candidate clearly for 2022 is Mayor Sara [Duterte]. There is no ifs or buts about it,” she said.
“She has the connection with the people like her dad does, she has the same authenticity that we love and fell in love with President [Rodrigo] Duterte for. Perhaps there are those saying that she lacks experience, pero that's quickly gained," Marcos added.
When asked about the possibility of Senator Cynthia Villar running in the presidential race, Marcos said that it would okay because Villar is “great”, “hardworking”, and “committed.”
As previously reported by KAMI, Duterte-Carpio dismissed the issue that she will be running as a president in 2022. She said that she wants to complete her three terms as the mayor of Davao until 2025.
