A Hollywood actor and entrepreneur lauded a Filipino bill for using tree-planting as a way to battle climate change.
KAMI learned that Ashton Kutcher reacted on a House bill seeking to require graduating students to plant 10 trees before getting their diplomas.
Through a Facebook post, Kutcher said, “Tree-planting is an awesome way to fight climate change.”

As previously reported by KAMI, House Bills 8728 and 8727 have been passed on third and final reading. The proposed laws aim to require graduating students and new parents to plant trees.
Magdalo Party-list Rep. Gary Alejano and Cavite 2nd District Rep. Strike Revilla filed the HB 8728 or the “Graduation Legacy for the Environment Act.”
However, the House Bill has no counterpart in the Senate yet.
