A brave orangutan was caught on cam trying to protect its habitat. He was desperately trying to stop a backhoe from destroying their home. He tried to stop the excavating equipment with his bare hands.

He fell into a stack of tree branches on his first attempt, but he was determined to stop the machine and climbed back again.

According to a report by Majestic Animals, the clip was filmed during a demolition of a portion of the Sungai Putri Forest in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

This forest served as a home to critically endangered Bornean orangutans.
