Smoking cigarettes is probably one of the most difficult habits to quit. Thanks to the nicotine found in a stick of cigarette, smokers get easily hooked and tend to crave it if they haven't smoked for a short period of time.

Luckily for some, quitting smoking has become a huge success all thanks to a bit of determination and a few tips to help them along the way.

If you're a smoker who's planning on curbing their craving for a quick puff, then you might want to check out some of the tips below:

1. Avoid triggers

Certain activities that remind you of smoking, such as drinking alcohol and coffee, might make you want to get your hands on some nicotine sticks. Avoid these triggers as best as you can in order to keep your cravings at bay.

2. Keep on moving

Sweating helps flush out from your body the toxins you've acquired from smoking cigarettes. Doing physical activities such as running or walking, on the other hand, would also help keep your mind off smoking a stick by shifting your focus elsewhere.

3. Chew on something

The act of chewing every time you feel the urge to grab a cigarette would give your mouth something else to do instead of smoking. Chew on sugar-free candy or other healthy snacks.

4. Try using a tracker

Downloading an app or simply writing down how many days you've gone cigarette-free would help motivate yourself. By seeing how much progress you've made, it will be easier for you to say no to lighting a cigarette every time you feel the urge to do so.

5. Delay
