- Bato dela Rosa was the number 1 Senate candidate in Metro Manila
- He said that those in Metro Manila are in favor of his “Oplan Tokhang”
- Dela Rosa also noted that he would push to bring back the capital punishment
Senator-elect Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said on Wednesday that Metro Manila was the “most affected region” of the anti-narcotics campaign.
KAMI learned that for Dela Rosa, “Oplan Tokhang” or the drug war might have been the reason why he landed as the number 1 senator in Metro Manila.
"Metro Manila is the most drug affected region. Pinakamaraming namatay, pinakamaraming nahuli. Kung hindi nila nagustuhan ang aking Oplan Tokhang, bakit nila ako ginawang Number 1 sa Metro Manila?" Dela Rosa said on Unang Balita.
"It goes to show na okay 'yung ginagawa natin,” he added.
Dela Rosa said that the very first thing he would push in the Senate is to bring back the capital punishment for drug traffickers only.
In a report by the Philippine Star, Dela Rosa was the most preferred Senatorial candidate in Metro Manila with 3,265,466 votes.
As previously reported by KAMI, Dela Rosa said that he is willing to learn more about the lawmaking process. He added that he is ready to become a senator and showed off the awards he received from different presidents.
