Many girls here in the country hate the summer heat simply because it melts the make-up that they spent hours on applying.

Because of the immense heat in the Philippines, girls' foundation often goes cakey and the only way to fix it is to do their make-up all over again.

Luckily, there are some ways to prevent foundation from caking. Here are just some of them:

1. Use a good primer

First off, in order to hold your foundation (and the rest of your make-up) in place, you need to use a good quality primer. There are plenty of good ones in make-up stores that are worth a good amount of money. Ask the beauty consultant on duty for the best sellers and for the one that would match your skin tone and skin type.

2. Use your fingers to apply your foundation

Many girls use brushes or beauty blenders to apply their foundation. Although these are both acceptable, nothing beats using the skin on your own fingers to apply your foundation. Not only would you be able to control the evenness of the make-up better but using your own fingers to apply the foundation would help your skin absorb the product better.

3. Use the right amount of foundation

There's a saying that "a little goes a long way." This rings true especially for make-up. No one wants their skin to be unable to breath in this hot weather. Less foundation also means less product that would melt under the sun.

4. Leave some time for the moisturizer and foundation to 'bake'

Before applying your foundation, make sure that your moisturizer has already set properly on your skin. Imagine applying foundation on a sticky and slippery skin. Not only would it not hold but it would also leave you feeling sticky and icky. Same goes for your foundation. Leave some time for it to 'bake' on your skin before setting it with powder.

Remember that applying make-up is like creating a beautiful painting since you're doing it on your face, after all. Make sure it would turn out beautiful at the end so as not to waste all the time and effort you spent doing your make-up.
