Mayor-elect Isko Moreno plans to buy the trash of Manila residents to clean up the city. KAMI learned that Moreno plans to implement this project once he officially becomes the mayor.
In an interview with Isko Moreno in Umagang Kay Ganda, he said that he would be giving incentives to those who will collect their trash properly and give it to them.
"Bilang dating basurero... 'yung basura mo, bibilin ko po 'yun kasi nakita ko na if you would stimulate or put these incentives, baka mahikayat, mabuhayan ang tao," he said.
Moreno said that he would be giving coupons to those who will give their trash to the local government, and when they are able to accumulate certain points, they could get goods or incentives from a supermarket or grocery store.
“Bibigyan kita ng coupon, o ‘yung coupon magkakaron ng points, mag-a-accumulate, then bubuhayin kong muli ‘yung Kadiwa [store]… Dun mo na itatangga ‘yung coupon mo, pwede mo i-claim,” Moreno said.
The mayor-elect also said that he is planning to bring back Metro Aide or the regular street sweepers of Manila.
As previously reported by KAMI, Moreno said that his priority in his term is to clean Manila City. He said that he would move heaven and earth just to fulfill that campaign promise.
