Getting a hangover is probably one of the worst feelings you'll ever have. Having a terrible headache and still being able to taste the alcohol you drank the previous night feels absolutely dreadful. Luckily, hangovers don't last long if you know hoe to properly treat it.
Take a look at some effective ways to get rid of a hangover:
1. Drink plenty of water
Since you're body is dehydrated from drinking all that alcohol, you need to bring the fluids back by drinking plenty of water.
2. Eat a heavy breakfast
As your body starts to break down the alcohol, you blood sugar drops thus contributing to a hangover. In order to normalize your blood sugar level, you need to eat a ton of food the morning after you drink.
3. Snack on antioxidants
As if eating food isn't enough, you should also snack on antioxidants such as almonds, berries, and dark chocolate.
4. Sip on coffee or tea
Thanks to the caffeine in coffee and tea, the extra kick will help relieve symptoms of fatigue from having a hangover. For some though, this doesn't always work due to the diuretic effect of both drinks.
5. Take medication
When all else fails or when the hangover is just too unbearable, you may opt to take medication to get rid of any discomfort. Over-the-counter medicine, such as Ibuprofen, could do the trick.
