- Vico Sotto was interviewed on ANC Headstart a month ago
- Karen Davila asked him why he became a politician instead of an actor like his parents
- The 29-year-old public servant gave an honest answer to Karen’s question
When Vico Sotto made headlines by defeating Bobby Eusebio in the recent Pasig City mayoral race, many people wondered why chose to be a politician rather than be a celebrity like his father Vic Sotto or his mother Coney Reyes.
KAMI learned that Vico already explained why a month ago.
In an interview with Karen Davila on the program ANC Headstart, the 29-year-old said that he was shy when he was younger and that he did not like that his parents were well-known.
He stated that entering showbiz was never his plan.
“I was never interested in showbiz. I was actually very shy growing up.
“I hated the spotlight. I didn’t like the fact that my parents were famous.
“But eventually as I grew up I became more comfortable with it but showbiz was definitely not an option,” he revealed.
KAMI reported earlier that Eusebio claimed that Vico won because of election fraud in Pasig.
Vico Sotto is the son of comedian Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes. He has four half-siblings – Oyo and Danica, whose mother is Dina Bonnevie; Paulina, whose mom is Angela Luz; and Talitha, whose mom is Pauleen Luna.
