June Mar “The Kraken” Fajardo gets awarded as the Finals MVP after leading the San Miguel Beer to bag their fifth consecutive title. KAMI learned that Fajardo also had a breaking rebound record.

In a report by GMA News, Fajardo set a new record with 31 rebounds. San Miguel won over Magnolia, 72-71. Fajardo broke the record of Marcelo Simbulan in 1975 with 29 rebounds.

On Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum, the crowd cheered as the Beermen had their fifth championship for consecutive years.

Fajardo led the game with 17 points, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. As reported by Rappler, he had an average of 22.9 points, 19.1 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks.

As previously reported by KAMI, Fajardo showed off his new house in Cebu. The Finals MVP bought the house as a gift for his parents. He also gave them a piggery business and a boat.
