- The almost three-decade-rule of the Eusebios in Pasig also concluded
All things must come to an end, even in some “political dynasty” in the Philippines. KAMI learned that many candidates were able to beat the incumbent officials whose families were governing their place for so many years.
In a report by the ABS-CBN News, Francis Zamora has successfully put an end to the almost 50-year-rule of the Ejercito-Estrada clan in San Juan City. Zamora has been proclaimed as the new mayor of San Juan with 35,060 votes.
Meanwhile, his political rival, Janella Ejercito, the daughter of Jinggoy Estrada, garnered 24,813 votes.
In a previous report by KAMI, Isko Moreno defeated Erap Estrada as the new Manila City mayor. Isko had 357,925 votes, while Erap gained 210,605 votes.
KAMI also reported before that Erap refused to accept his defeat. He insisted that he was winning in the pre-election surveys.
In Pasig City, Kapuso star Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes' son, Vico Sotto, was proclaimed as the new mayor. Vico defeated Bobby Eusebio, whose family had been reigning the city for about three decades. Vico gained 206,226 votes, while Bobby had 119,726.
As previously reported by KAMI, Bobby did not accept his defeat. He also filed a complaint regarding an alleged election fraud.
