Veteran TV anchor and Senatorial aspirant Jiggy Manicad concedes his defeat in the midterm polls.
KAMI learned that through a Facebook live video, Manicad accepted that he did not make it to the “Magic 12” as seen in the partial and unofficial results. He also thanked those who voted for him and supported him.
"We played by the rules ika nga, 'yung tamang pangangampanya base sa prinsipyo ng pagiging tama at malinis ay ginawa natin.
Manicad also congratulated his party-mates in the Hugpong ng Pagbabago who are leading in the race.
As reported by the ABS-CBN News, Manicad garnered 6,701,006 votes as of May 14, 2019, 5:53 PM and from 95.17% of Election Returns. He ranked as the 20th candidate.
Out of the 13 HNP candidates, 10 of them made it to the Magic 12. Only Manicad, JV Ejercito, and Zajid Mangudadatu did not enter the Top 12.
