Blackpink’s very own Jennie has set a new record in the history of K-pop.
Recent reports state that “Solo,” her debut song as an independent singer, has reached more than 300 million views on YouTube on May 14.
Her record-breaking song was first released on November 2018, which means that it only took around 6 months for it to garner 300 million views.
Because of this, Jennie is now the first female South Korean soloist to have a music video reach a huge number of views on YouTube.
Her song has set the benchmark for most views to have been achieved in the shortest amount of time.

YG Entertainment first announced that Jennie will be making her first solo debut on October 2018. She is Blackpink’s multi-faceted rapper and vocalist.
Blackpink was first introduced to the public in 2016 and performed numerous hit songs such as “BOOMBAYAH” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
