Senatorial candidates who have already conceded defeat in Election 2019

In any election, there will be winners and there will be losers. A candidate’s reaction to either winning or losing shows a lot about that person’s character.

Here are three candidates in the senatorial race that have already conceded defeat and have remained positive despite losing:

1. Jiggy Manicad

Reporter and Senatorial candidate Jiggy Manicad conceded his defeat through a Facebook video. There seems to be no bitterness in him despite the defeat.

"Ngayon po klaro na ang resulta… nais ko pong magpasalamat sa inyong lahat…

"Ganyan talaga ang eleksyon. Siyempre parang karera yan, may mananalo at matatalo…

"Sa ngayon po, kung tinatanong niyo… anong gagawin ko. Ang gagawin ko ho ay maglilinis ng bahay kasi three months ho akong hindi na nakapaglilinis," Manicad said.

2. Samira Gutoc

Samira Gutoc remained optimistic, grateful and witty despite losing.

“I’m alright despite what happened. Ganon naman talaga. It’s like my three bar exams.

“To everyone who helped me, who voted for me, thank you talaga. I cannot say the immense gigantic thank you sa lahat. Saludo po ako sa Pilipinas,” Gutoc said.

3. Florin Hilbay

Like Gutoc, Florin Hilbay is also a member of the Otso Diretso team. Despite the loss, Hilbay focused on the inspiring moments he experienced while campaigning.
