- Former President Noynoy Aquino expressed his side regarding poll surveys
- This is after the opposition bets struggle to go on top
- He said that he believes more on the sentiments of people against the current administration
Former Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has finally aired his side regarding several poll surveys that show opposition senatorial bets losing to pro-administration candidates.
KAMI learned that the previous leader of the country expressed his serious and honest thoughts after he casted his vote in Tarlac City for the 2019 midterm elections.
Aquino is aware that his bets are struggling when it comes to surveys, especially since Pulse Asia recently reported that only his cousin Bam Aquino has a statistical chance of making it to the “Magic 12.”
The former President then hinted in an interview with ABS-CBN News that he is not swayed by the results of the surveys, as he believes more on the sentiments of the people against the current government.
He also shared about an article he read in a newspaper, which criticized the Duterte administration for several issues including its bloody campaign against illegal substances.
"May sumulat sa isang dyaryo... kung survey lang natin dadaanin, wag na raw tayong maghalalan, mas mabilis iyung survey," Aquino quipped.
"Sabi ng sumulat: pila ka sa bigas, pila ka sa tubig, ang tunay na may sala pinapakawalan, ang walang sala nanlaban, asan na, asan na kaming namatayan... Palagay ko mas totoo ang sentimyentong iyun kaysa mga survey na nakikita natin," he added.
In a previous article by KAMI, Aquino reminded the Filipino people to vote for candidates who will keep their promises.
Benigno Aquino III is a Filipino politician who became the 15th President of the Philippines. He is the son of Corazon Aquino and the sister of prominent actress Kris Aquino.
