Calatagan, Batangas was hit by a magnitude 4.2 earthquake, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
KAMI learned that the earthquake happened earlier today, May 9, 2019, at 11:39 a.m.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, had its epicenter traced 20 kms southwest of Calatagan with a depth of 129 kms.
According to the Phivolcs report, it is not expected to cause damage to properties in the areas affected.
KAMI previously reported that Ilocos Norte was struck by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake.
The country is expected to be hit soon by a huge earthquake called “The Big One,” which is projected to cause the deaths of thousands living in Metro Manila.
