Opposition coalition Otso Diretso had their thanksgiving party and last major campaign sortie before the May 13 polls. KAMI learned that despite the heavy rains, the party pushed through and their supporters stayed.
In a report by the Inquirer (author Gabriel Pabico Lalu), the “This is 8” thanksgiving party was held at the University of the Philippines Diliman on Wednesday. The opposition candidates Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, Florin Hilbay, Romy Macalintal, Erin Tanada, Gary Alejano, Bam Aquino, and Mar Roxas were complete for the third time.
Amid the heavy rains, the opposition candidates still practiced their performance prepared for their volunteers and supporters. They dedicated the song “Salamat” for them.
Other members of the opposition were in the event like Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Sen. Antonio Trillanes, and Sen. Franklin Drilon.
Unfazed by the heavy rains, the show went on. The supporters and volunteers of the Otso Diretso stayed and enjoyed the party. There were performances by OPM bands and singers like Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel, Autotelic, Imago, Paramulan, and Bituin Escalante.
