It’s official! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced the name of their baby. However, KAMI learned that some netizens were surprised that the newborn was not given a royal title.
Through an Instagram post, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed that they named their newborn Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. For the first time, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was able to meet her new grandson at the Windsor Castle.
According to TIME (author Mahita Gajanan), the name “Harrison” could simply mean "Harry's son" or “son of Harry.” However, many were surprised with the name “Archie” and linked it to the popular Archie Comics and Netflix’s series, “Riverdale.”
In a report by the Fox News (author Stephanie Nolasco), a royal expert said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might have chosen the name “Archie” with the hope of their son living a “normal life as possible.”
