KAMI learned what are the steps and few guidelines you should know before, during, and after voting.

Here are some guidelines and reminders you should not forget, as reported by Rappler (author Sofia Tomacruz):

  • The voting will start from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Double check and familiarize yourself with the location where you will be voting. For more info, you may contact Comelec at 526-7769
  • Bring water to stay hydrated while waiting
  • Prepare your list of candidates
  • Do not use your phone while voting
  • Do not take a picture of your ballot

Here are the steps to do when voting:

1. Identify yourself

- Check if your name is on the voter’s list to know in what room you are going to vote

2. Get your ballot

- Get your ballot, ballot secrecy folder, and pen from the board of elections inspectors

3. Select your candidates

- Fill out the entire circle beside the candidate you are choosing

- For Senators, you are allowed to choose for a maximum of 12 candidates. For House of Representatives, Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Party-list, only a maximum of 1 candidate is allowed

- You are allowed to choose to abstain or vote below 12 but not more than what was indicated

4. Cast your ballot

- Keep your ballot inside the ballot secrecy folder. Head to the vote-counting machine (VCM) and insert your ballot

- A poll clerk will mark your finger with indelible ink

- Do not forget your voting receipt and double check if it reflects your chosen candidates

- Drop the voting receipt in the box before leaving
