The Independent Bishops Conference of the Philippines (IBCP) has released their Top 12 picks in the upcoming mid-term elections. KAMI learned that most of their bets are the Duterte administration’s candidates.
In a report by the Inquirer (author Krissy Aguilar), only two opposition candidates made it in their list. According to the bishops, these candidates have great tract records that qualified them to become senators.
Here are the senatorial aspirants that they are supporting:
- Imee Marcos
- Bong Go
- Bato dela Rosa
- JV Ejercito
- Nancy Binay
- Bong Revilla
- Pia Cayetano
- Koko Pimentel
- Francis Tolentino
- Cynthia Villar
- Bam Aquino
- Mar Roxas
The IBCP is comprised of 187 bishops across the Philippines.
As previously reported by KAMI, the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has launched the top picks of the People’s Choice Movement (PCM). Their list included the opposition candidates of Otso Diretso, Grace Poe, and Neri Colmenares.
