- A gold medalist in Palarong Pambansa was orphaned by his parents
- He was only a baby when his father and mother left him
- While celebrating his victory, he couldn't help but cry seeing other athletes with their parents beside them
A gold medalist in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa couldn't help but cry after winning the much-coveted medal.
KAMI learned that the athlete, Kent Bryan Celeste, from Region 1, attained the gold medal in high jump secondary boys.
He didn't simply win, considering that he broke his own record in the sport.
However, despite having bagged the highest award, he couldn't help but shed tears as he recounted how his parents abandoned him when he was a baby.
According to Virtual Pinoy, Kent gave a message to the parents who turned him into an orphan.
As for his success, he was offering it to his grandmother who supported him all the way.
The 17-year-old athlete also expressed how painful it was to see parents supporting their children.
Kent will be a freshman at the Mapua Institute of Technology. He dreams of also becoming a coach someday to help support other athletes.
