- El Shaddai endorsed 14 candidates for the upcoming May polls
- Most of their picks are supported by the Duterte administration
- However, Otso Diretso bets and a Catholic bishop slammed the decision of El Shaddai
Religious charismatic group El Shaddai has revealed their list of Senatorial bets that they are endorsing for the polls. KAMI learned that some of the Otso Diretso candidates and a high-ranking Catholic Bishop slammed the group’s decision.
In a report by the ABS-CBN News, only Senator Bam Aquino was the opposition candidate who made it in El Shaddai’s list.
“Ano ba talaga ang ibig sabihin ng honesty sa kanila? Dahil kung hindi nila mapaliwanag ‘yan, eh baka mamaya, mawala rin sila ng supporters,” senatorial aspirant Erin Tanada said.
“Pasensya na po, El Shaddai. I appeal that you consider me, to consider us, sa Otso Diretso. Kami po ay voice of the conscience,” Marawi civil leader Samira Gutoc said.
As reported by the Coconuts Manila, Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo criticized El Shaddai’s list.
“If Mike Velarde can brazenly come out with a list endorsing MAGNANAKAW, MAMAMATAY TAO, and DISHONEST people, should not our lay leaders and lay groups do at least the same – endorsing names but of honest people,” Pabillo said.
According to a report by the Inquirer, El Shaddai endorsed 14 candidates and they are:
- Bam Aquino
- Grace Poe
- Cynthia Villar
- Nancy Binay
- Koko Pimentel
- Sonny Angara
- JV Ejercito
- Jinggoy Estrada
- Francis Tolentino
- Bato dela Rosa
- Bong Revilla
- Bong Go
- Imee Marcos
- Doc Willie Ong
