- The Palace changed its statement regarding the source of their “ouster matrix”
- Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that it came from an unknown number
- He also noted that President Rodrigo Duterte is not a liar
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that the source of their “oust Duterte” matrix came from an unknown number.
KAMI learned that the recent statement of Panelo is different from what he previously said, that it came from President Rodrigo Duterte himself, as reported by the ABS-CBN News (authors Pia Gutierrez and Arianne Merez).
"Hindi ko alam kasi walang number siya. Oh, well nung nakita ko ‘yung sa Manila Times, mukhang pareho. Eto na ‘yun, wala ng iba,” Panelo said.
Earlier, the Manila Times published an article of the alleged ouster plot. Just two days after publication, the managing editor, Felipe Salvosa II, resigned from his post.
The ouster matrix claimed that the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, Vera Files, National Union of People’s Lawyers, and Rappler are behind it. However, it has not been verified yet if Malacañang’s copy is the same as the Manila Times' copy.
Panelo said that he does not need to verify what President Duterte said because he is not a liar, as reported by the Inquirer (author Julie Aurelio).
“The President does not lie on these things. The President does not lie on anything,” Panelo stated.
