The authorities were able to capture Rodel Jayme, 26, the web administrator of metrobalita.com, a website created where series of “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos were uploaded.

KAMI learned that Jayme claimed he had nothing to do with the viral videos linking the Duterte Family to the drug trade. He said that he felt “betrayed” by his clients for misusing the website he created.

“Nilaglag ako sa bagay na wala akong alam, na parang trinaydor ako. Kasi, kung tutuusin, in-upload ‘yung video, ‘di manlang sinabi sa akin na alam nilang nandy’an ‘yung pangalan ko dahil syempre, alam ko, ang alam ko lang, malinis ‘yung intension ng pagpapagawa [ng website],” Jayme said, as reported by the GMA News (authors Dona Magsino and John Consulta).

The suspect said that a client he knew from 2015 reached out to him to create a website for campaign purposes. He added that the original plan was to use the site to post articles of a particular “Otso Diretso” candidate.

“Kandidato po ng ano, Otso Diretso ang ipopost po dun sa website,” he said.

Jayme noted that when the first video was uploaded on April 2, he received instructions to keep himself in the dark for a month because a certain “Bikoy” would reveal himself to the media before the elections.

Bikoy is the one who claimed that he was part of the drug syndicate and linked the Duterte Family to the drug trade.

However, Liberal Party President Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said that the opposition coalition had nothing to do with the videos and “Bikoy.”

"Hindi involved ang LP sa anumang bagay tungkol sa Bikoy video. Period," Pangilinan said.

As previously reported by KAMI, the Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was able to arrest the uploader of “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos. However, they dismissed the reports that they had apprehended “Bikoy” already.
