- Otso Diretso candidates have been receiving low survey rankings
- However, they still remain hopeful until the election day
- Sen. Bam Aquino said that he is hoping for a “miracle” for their senate slate to succeed
The Otso Diretso candidates are still trying to win the votes of the Filipinos for the upcoming May 2019 polls. KAMI learned that the opposition candidates received low survey rankings, just weeks before the elections.
In a report by the ABS-CBN News (author Adrian Ayalin), reelectionist Senator Bam Aquino said that he is hoping for a miracle that the senatorial slate will make it to the “Magic 12” this coming elections.
“Ngayong Mayo po naghahanap tayo ng mirakulo at ako sa puso ko, nand'yan pa rin ang paniniwala,” Aquino said.
Otso Diretso candidate Erin Tañada said that for the remaining 14 days of the campaign period, they need to go out of their organizations and visit sitios.
As reported by the GMA News (authors JP Soriano and Llanesca Panti), Liberal Party chairman Vice President Leni Robredo said that she would be rooting for the Otso Diretso candidates until the “very last day.”
“I will be hopeful until the very last day dahil naniniwala ako na the best yung aming mga kandidato —matino, mahusay may paninindigan," Robredo said.
The Otso Diretso candidates are: Mar Roxas, Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno, Erin Tañada, Florin Hilbay, Romy Macalintal, Gary Alejano, and Samira Gutoc.
KAMI reported earlier that the Pulse Asia released the senatorial survey results two weeks prior the election day. The result was dominated by the candidates of Hugpong ng Pagbabago and PDP-Laban.
