Earlier, a fire hit a high-rise condominium in Parañaque City. KAMI learned that six were injured and an 80-year-old woman died during the blaze.
In a report by the GMA News (author Dona Magsino), the remains of Zenaida Uno was found at a balcony from the 21st floor of Pacific Coast Plaza.
The fire started at around 11:56 a.m. in between the 21st and 23rd floor. However, residents from the 18th floor were also affected by the fire.
As reported by the ABS-CBN News, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still investigating the cause of the fire. There were also complaints that the fire sprinkler system in the condominium did not function.
As of 2:29 in the afternoon, the fire was declared under control. At 5:33 p.m., the authorities declared a “fire out.” The local government unit said that they are willing to assist the victims if needed.
As previously reported by KAMI, two dogs were rescued from the 21st floor. The BFP also declared a “general alarm” that required firefighters from other districts in Metro Manila to respond to the incident.
