When a magnitude 6.1 earthquake jolted Luzon, the Chuzon Supermarket in Porac, Pampanga, was among the most damaged establishments that caused casualties.
KAMI learned that the authorities had released to the public the CCTV footages of the Chuzon Supermarket a few seconds before it collapsed.
As reported by the GMA News, the owner of the supermarket, Samuel Chu, denied that there were irregularities in the construction of the establishment.
However, the authorities are building a strong case to file against Chu to hold him responsible for the multiple deaths trapped in the collapsed supermarket. The businessman also promised to give P50,000 financial assistance to the families of the victims, and he will also cover the hospital bills.
In a previous report by KAMI, around 11 persons were reported dead caused by the Luzon quake, and 5 of them were found at the Chuzon Supermarket. Due to the fatalities, Pampaga was placed under a state of calamity.
Day after the Luzon quake, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit Eastern Samar in the Visayas. KAMI also reported the different footages that caught the exact moment when the earthquake happened.
