- Bishop Pablo David has shared on social media the story of Barabbas and Jesus Christ on Good Friday
- He also compared the story to the upcoming May 2019 polls
- Also, Cardinal Tagle mentioned the social media trolls during his homily
During the Good Friday, Caloocan City Bishop Pablo Virgilio David compared the story of Barabbas and Jesus Christ’s crucifixion to the upcoming mid-term polls in May.
KAMI learned that the bishop asked: “Sa darating na Mayo, para kanino ang boto mo? Kay Barabbas o kay Hesus?"
As reported by the GMA News (author Marisse Panaligan), the bishop shared the story of Jesus Christ to give a lesson about democracy and faith.
“Binigyan sila ni Poncio Pilato ng pagkakataong bumoto. Ang pagpipilian ay si Hesus o si Barabbas. Ibinoto nila si Barabbas at ipinapako sa krus si Hesus,” the bishop wrote.
In a report by the Rappler (author Ralf Rivas), Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle mentioned the social media trolls during his homily at the Manila Cathedral.
“Pati social media iba-iba ang ginagamit [na pangalan]… at dahil gumagamit ng ibang pangalan, nagtatapang-tapangan. Matapang lang kasi di niya inaamin ang tunay niyang pangalan,” he said.
“Ang mga sinungaling, marunong ba yan magmahal? Si Hesus na nagmahal, totoo,” the bishop added.
As previously reported by KAMI, Bishop David called out President Rodrigo Duterte for calling his mother a “whore.” The religious leader defended her mother and said that she deserves to be respected.
