Sara Duterte thinks of leaving Hugpong ng Pagbabago

Davao City Mayor and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) chairperson Sara Duterte-Carpio said that she is thinking of leaving her political party. KAMI learned that Duterte-Carpio cited exhaustion as the reason.

“Actually sa totoo lang, sa ngayon pa lang pinag-iisipan ko na iwanan na ang HNP kasi napagod na ako sa election na ito, kasi lahat sila nakatingin lang sa akin, lahat sila nag-iintay sa akin,” she said, as reported by the ABS-CBN News (author Dharel Placido).

“Akala ko madali lang kasi sa Davao madali kausap ang mga politicians. Pero kapag ganyan na pala kalaki at iba-iba ang karakas ng mga tao, mahirap pala talaga siya,” she added.

In February 2018, the Presidential daughter formed her own political party in Davao region. However, she also started entering the national politics and began endorsing senatorial candidates for the upcoming mid-term polls.

In a report by the Manila Bulletin (author Ellson Quismorio), the Senate slate of HNP includes Sen. Sonny Angara, Sen. Cynthia Villar, Sen. Koko Pimentel, Sen. JV Ejercito, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, former SAP Bong Go, former PNP chief Bato dela Rosa, former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, former Sen. Bong Revilla, Deputy Speaker Pia Cayetano, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangundadatu, Francis Tolentino, and Jiggy Manicad.

As previously reported by KAMI, Youtube videos claimed that the Duterte family is involved in the drug trade. The video urged Paolo Duterte to show his controversial back tattoo. However, Sara said that it is Paolo’s right to privacy if he chooses not to show it to the public.

Born on May 31, 1978, Sara Duterte-Carpio or “Inday Sara” first started to serve as the vice mayor of Davao City beginning in 2007 to 2010. In June 2010, she became the mayor of Davao City.

As she is running as Davao City’s mayor once again, Duterte-Carpio said that she is not vying for the presidency or replace her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.
