President Duterte mocks priests and Catholic Church during Holy Week
- President Rodrigo Duterte criticized the priests and Catholic Church anew
- He insisted that the priests should stop using the Church to attack him

The observance of the Holy Week did not stop President Rodrigo Duterte to criticize the priests and the Catholic Church. KAMI learned that the President mocked the church anew, during his speech at the campaign rally of PDP-Laban on Holy Tuesday.
In a report by the ABS-CBN News (author Pia Gutierrez), the President slammed the Catholic Church’s concept of heaven and hell.
“Anong heaven and hell? Saan man ilagay? Bakit ako na ang Diyos? Diyos na ako. Bakit ako maggawa ng masamang tao at ilagay ko diyan sa impiyerno?” the President said.
“Anong gawain mo sa langit? Akbayan mo sila? Amoy-amoyin mo? P**** i**** San Pedro na ’yan,” he added.
As reported by the GMA News (author Anna Felicia Bajo), President Duterte mocked the “forgiveness” given by the priests.
“I have declared war. ‘Pag hindi, matalo ang bayan ko… Kayong mga pari wala man kayong gawin. Eh mag-ano kayo, forgiveness, forgiveness. Madala ba ‘yan ng forgiveness?" he said.
"'Yung pari dapat huwag mong gamitin ang simbahan. Kung ito ang simbahan, pulpito ito, lumabas ka because there is a separation of Church and State. Hindi lahat tao Katoliko. May mga Muslim. May mga Protestante, may Jehovah. Huwag mong gamitin ang simbahan kasi ‘pag resbak ko, tatamaan talaga ang simbahan," the President added.
President Duterte also defended himself for telling the truth and mentioned that even Pope Francis acknowledged that there were priests who abused nuns.
