Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador willingly shared to public her tough struggle with depression because of her last relationship.

KAMI learned that her confession happened during the “Legit or Lie” challenge in “Tonight With Boy Abunda” where she served as the guest.

It can be remembered that Janella accused her former partner Elmo Magalona of several physical abuses during the course of their love affair.

The topic on depression was brought up when the actress was asked to react to a netizen’s statement that said, “Moved on na siya sa last relationship niya! Happy for you Jea!”

The 21-year-old actress then happily confirmed that she has moved on already but she recalled the dark moments she encountered because of what happened.

“I went through really bad times, I got depressed, I didn’t wanna get out of the house anymore, when I went through that it’s like I wanted to be in this little hole and never get out,” she reminisced.

Janella furthered that she was stuck with all the bad memories to the extent that she experienced a divine touch that made her possess a “different outlook in life.”

Moreover, Boy Abunda asked about the moment when the young actress knew that she has already moved on from her past relationship.

“I have to be honest with you, there was one night that I couldn’t stop thinking about bad things. I was really depressed,” she quipped.

“I was up all night I couldn’t sleep. And when I woke up, 3 different friends who weren’t close to each other sent me a message,” she added.

These 3 people, one of them was Erich Gonzales, managed to uplift Janella during the time when she wanted to give up.

She also construed during the interview that her sadness and struggles led to what she has become in the present.

“In your time of need talaga, that’s how you know God is there. He uses different things to reach out to you,” she elucidated.

“I learned so much from that relationship… I learned more about myself… what I can’t tolerate and how to love someone but at the same time still love yourself… I forgot that I had my own person,” she added.

Here is the video of the interview:

In a previous article by KAMI, Janella broke her silence about the emotional withdrawal of her friend Liza Soberano from “Darna.”

Janella Salvador is an artist who has loved performing arts ever since she was at a tender age.

She currently has an anthology streaming on iWant TV titled, “Touchscreen” and it centers on how important life is and how it should not revolve around social media.
