- The Philippine National Police said that they will do the initiative to investigate the viral “narco list” video
- PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde noted that they will track the “Bikoy” in the video
- He also reminded the public about the cyber libel under the Anti-cybercrime Law
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said that they are trying to track down the people behind the viral videos of “Ang Totoong Narco List.”
KAMI learned that PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde also warned “Bikoy” of cyber libel. Bikoy was the one in the video which claimed to be a former member of the syndicate and accused the Duterte family of being linked to the drug trade.
In a report by the Rappler (author Rambo Talabong), the authorities said that even though no one has officially filed a complaint against the viral video and Bikoy yet, they will do the initiative to investigate and identify him.
As reported by the Inquirer (author Catherine Gonzales), Bikoy would be held liable of cyber libel under the Anti-cybercrime Law.
“We have to be responsible citizens lalo na ‘yung naglalabas ng ganyang accusations sa social media. We have the anti-cybercrime law. Hindi ka basta-basta pwedeng magsabi ng libelous sa mga tao,” Albayalde said.
KAMI reported before that a series of Youtube videos went viral online after claiming that Presidential son Paolo Duterte was linked to the drug trade. KAMI also said earlier that Kitty Duterte and Sara Duterte’s lawyer partner were mentioned in the video for allegedly receiving grease money.
