- Imee Marcos commented on the dispute between the Philippines and China
- She claimed that it was the Philippines who first picked the fight
- Marcos also responded to the controversies regarding her educational background
Senatorial aspirant and Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos has commented on the on-going dispute of Philippines and China over territorial claims on waters.
KAMI learned that for the candidate, it was the Philippines who picked the fight against China by bringing it to the international court.
"Siyempre controversial 'to, maraming maiinis sa akin. Tayo nag-umpisa ng gulo eh. Bakit naman kasi natin hinabla sa world court?" she said.
"We started it. We picked a fight and then ngayon, 'yun pala hindi natin kaya. Ano bang klase 'yun? Talagang takaw gulpi tayo,” she said.
During her interview in CNN Philippines’ The Source, Marcos also put an end on her controversial educational background. She said that she graduated from Princeton University and University of the Philippines College of Law as far as she knew.
“Let’s put it to rest na. I am not running on my academics in any case. I am running on my performance,” Marcos said.
As previously reported by KAMI, Marcos claimed that she graduated from Princeton University. However, the school’s official student newspaper denied the claim and said that they do not have a record showing that Marcos actually graduated from there.
