Kathryn Bernardo finally exposed her thoughts about the speculations that she will portray the iconic role of “Darna” after Liza Soberano announced her withdrawal.
KAMI learned that the search for the next artist who will act as the said superhero is open again since Liza backed out due to her serious and unhealed finger injury.
A lot of netizens wanted several celebrities to audition for the role and Kathryn is one of the “most favorite” to become “Darna.”
Upon hearing the rumors, the multi-awarded actress admitted that almost every woman in the showbiz industry dreams to portray the aforementioned character.
However, she believes that the much-talked-about role is not suited for her because she claimed that the superhero needs to be portrayed by an “older” woman.
“Darna is such an iconic role… Pero maybe it’s not for me. Hindi porket gusto mo yung role, pwede siya sa’yo. For me, may binabagayan siya…” she quipped.
“Of course, natutuwa ako [dahil] sa mga fans…” she added.

Despite confessing that she does not suit for the role, Kathryn disclosed that she cannot think of an artist who is best to act as “Darna” after Angel Locsin.
Nonetheless, she emphasized that she will fully support whoever will be chosen as the lead actress in the much-anticipated superhero movie.
“Tinatanong nila ako kung sino yung perfect for the next role, I don’t know. Kasi kahit ako, iniisip ko kung sino pa yung pwede after ate Angel,” she said.
“Whoever man yung mapili for the role, kailangan talagang bigyan ng maraming trainings kasi hindi joke yung Darna…” she added.
