Lyca Gairanod receives two medals during her moving-up ceremony

Lyca Gairanod attended her moving-up ceremony on April 4 in her school, Mother Theresa School at General Trias, Cavite.

Aside from moving up to a higher grade level, the former The Voice Kids grand champion was also able to bag two recognition medals.

In her Instagram account, she shared a photo of herself wearing a white toga, a graduation cap, and the two medals.

The 14-year old singer is currently putting her career on hold in order to focus on her studies.

Many netizens were impressed with Lyca's achievements not only in singing, but also in academics.

According to ABS-CBN News, Lyca revealed during one of her interviews what she really wants to be when she grows up.

Lyca says she dreams of being a teacher someday so that she could help children who are in need of proper education.

She said: "Gusto ko maging teacher sa school kahit free po basta makatulong po ako sa mga bata... tatapusin ko 'yong pag-aaral ko para maabot ko 'yong gusto kong kurso.”

In a previous report by KAMI, Lyca went viral for her rendition of the song "Havana" in "Umagang Kay Ganda."

Lyca Gairanod is one of the youngest singers in the Philippines. She was hailed as the champion of the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines, surpassing Darren Espanto and Juan Karlos Labajo.
