President Rodrigo Duterte said that corruption is still rampant in the Philippines. However, KAMI learned that the President is confident that the members of his Cabinet are not corrupt.
In a report by the Manila Bulletin (author Genalyn Kabiling), the President commented on how he was dealing with corruption in the country during his speech in the campaign rally of PDP-Laban in Malabon City.
“Sabihin mo, ma-control ko ba ang corruption sa lahat, ito sasabihin ko sa‘yo: ang Pilipinas is corrupt to the core,” he said.
“Ibang-ibang mesa ‘yan diyan sa city hall o kaya nasa national. Pagka dumaan ‘yang papel diyan, pera ‘yan,” the President added.
However, President Duterte said that there is no corruption going on in the Executive department.
“Pinaka-maintindi corruption sa mababa. Wala na kayong problema dito sa taas, sa Executive department, ‘yung mga Gabinete,” the President said.
As reported by the GMA News (author Virgil Lopez), President Duterte said that the Filipinos do not owe anything to the politicians.
“Wala kayong utang na loob sa mga politiko. Lahat ‘yan pati suweldo nila, pera ninyo,” he said.
In a previous report by KAMI, during President Duterte’s speech, he said that the LGBT members have nothing to be ashamed of since God also created them.
