- Commuters can now book for ride-sharing helicopters to escape traffic
- Right now, they only have three routes available
Singapore-based helicopter ride-sharing Ascent has recently launched their platform to help Filipinos avoid traffic in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
KAMI learned that the new ride-sharing mode of transportation aims to address the traffic problem in the metro, citing that the Philippines lost around P3.5 billion due to traffic congestion.

In a report by the Inquirer (author Faye Orellana), one of the helicopters available is the BELL 429 that could board 7 passengers. They also have an Airbus H125 that could carry 5 passengers.
Here are the routes available and their rates:
- NAIA – Clark: P25,900
- Makati – BGC: P6,900
- NAIA – Tagaytay: P21,900
According to a report by the GMA News (author Ted Cordero), Ascent is also planning to extend its helicopter services in Visayas and Mindanao. They are also aiming to expand and offer their services in other countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
