Dr. Erwin Erfe, a forensic expert working for the Public Attorney's Office (PAO), has confirmed that 16-year-old Christine Silawan was raped before she was killed last month.

The PAO forensic chief revealed that the conclusion was based on the lacerations and bleeding on the victim’s private part.

In a report by Rappler (authored by Micole Gerard Tizon), Dr. Erfe said that a second autopsy was done because the girl’s family had a difficult time believing that Christine was not raped before she died.

The doctor also revealed that Silawan’s face was removed through the use of sulfuric acid and that she was killed by choking – with both the hands and a rope used to strangle her, as reported by SunStar Cebu (authored by Alan Tangcawan).

Dr. Erfe added that at least three persons committed the crime and that it would have been impossible for just one person to have done it.

KAMI reported earlier that the suspect’s mother defended her son and denied that he had anything to do with Christine’s death.

Christine Silawan was found dead in Cebu with her face skinned off. Authorities are still investigating the exact details of the crime and are believed to be close to finally solving it.
