An alleged Chinese dredging vessel was seen in Lobo, Batangas. KAMI learned that the ship was in that area for almost a week now.
In a report by the Philippine Star, the vessel was boarded by Chinese and Indonesian crew. The Philippine Coast Guard and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office immediately headed to the boat to speak with the crew.
They have an approved importation clearance from MARINA. According to their contract with the local government of Lobo and Philippine-owned Seagate Engineering and Buildsystem, the vessel is set to do the dredging and desilting of Lobo River and estuaries.
However, according to a report by the ABS-CBN News (author Kevin Dinglasan), the crew of the ship said that they had an error with the coordinates where they should arrive.
The officials also asked the vessel to leave the area, but they just moved for a few distances.
In a report by the CNN Philippines, the Palace said that the government is still trying to verify the presence of the Chinese vessel in Batangas.
