Two thieves killed a 21-year-old graduating student in Cebu City. KAMI learned that Jovanie Pat was trying to protect the woman he was with when the incident happened.
According to a report by GMA News’ Saksi, the initial police investigation implies that Jovanie and the woman were walking when the thieves confronted them.
The suspects wanted to steal the bag of the woman, but the victims resisted. Therefore, the hold-uppers pointed a gun at them. The bullet hit Jovanie’s artery that led him to bleed until he was declared dead.

Jovanie is the seventh of the 14 children. He was supposed to be a teacher, and his family was expecting from him financially.
“Inaasahan namin na makapagtapos siya para makatulong sa aming pamilya at sa mga kapatid nya,” Jose Pat said, the father of Jovanie.
Jovanie’s family cries for justice as the Central Visayas Police Office has started their investigation. They are praying that the suspects will come out and own up to their crime.
