The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) tapped the SWAT of the Philippine National Police to accompany them in Baclaran to continue the clearing operations that they were not able to finish last Tuesday because of the aangry vendors.
KAMI learned that Commander Jun Vialu of MMDA – Task Force Special Operations was even pushed by a barangay kagawad when a commotion happened during the clearing operations on Tuesday.
Even before, the vendors and the MMDA compromised and had an agreement on where they can sell and place their things. However, when the authorities recently conducted an inspection, they noticed that the vendors did not follow the measurement given to them.

According to a report by GMA’s Balitanghali, when the MMDA took the things of the vendors, the commotion started, and they got physical with each other.
The MMDA explained that they still want to maintain their negotiation with the vendors. However, they should follow the rules so that it will not come to the point that the MMDA will come back in full force.
