- He was found dead along the EDSA Connecticut on Tuesday
- PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde said that the victim was part of the drug watchlist in the past
A police officer was found dead along EDSA Connecticut in a broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon. KAMI learned that the policeman was riding on a motorcycle when the assailant shot him.
In a report by Abante TNT, Philippine National Police chief General Oscar Albayalde confirmed that the victim, Police Senior Master Sergeant Solomon Cugay, was part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug watchlist in the past.
The authorities are still investigating if Cugay’s death was drug-related or if there was someone he had an argument with.
“Nasa PRRD list siya before. But then again ‘yung motive sa pagkakabaril sa kanya, wala pang maliwanag doon. It’s still being investigated,” Albayalde said, as reported by the Inquirer.
