Batang Gilas’ Kai Sotto finally decides to pursue his NBA dream

The star player of Ateneo de Manila High School, Kai Sotto, has finally announced his departure from the Philippines to pursue a career in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

KAMI learned that Sotto has announced on his Instagram account that he will be leaving soon to join his full-time training so that he can join the NBA by 2021 or 2022.

“Pinagisipan ko po ito ng mabuti. I will train very hard and sacrifice and focus in the next few years so that one day soon, you will be very proud of me,” Sotto wrote.

“Sana po all of you will support me and pray for me. I will strive very hard never to let you down,” he added.

In a report by the ABS-CBN News, Sotto was a member of the Blue Eaglets and won the UAAP Juniors Season 80 Championship. The 16-year-old player was also awarded as the MVP of UAAP Season 81.

Kai is the son of former professional basketball player and assistant coach, Ervin Sotto. The 7-footer junior player was also a part of the Batang Gilas.
