Speculations about teen queen Kathryn Bernardo being excommunicated from Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) continue to circulate in social media.
Kapamilya actress and model Marlann Flores posted a photo on her Instagram account last Saturday, May 7 with a caption that reads: 'Kath and Trina both received Christ today as their own and personal Savior! Praise be to God! This year has been fruitful already! Let's proclaim God's name with boldness and conviction'
The photo showing Kathryn and their close friends, Pamu Pamorada and Trina Guytingco was posted on her Instagram account, came with a caption saying that the Teen Queen has received Christ as 'her own personal Savior.'
However, Marlann, in a different Instagram post, denied that she has converted Kathryn to a different religion and she was just 'sharing the gospel.'
Rumors of Kathryn's 'disfellowship' from the religious group has begun circulating in 2015 as Kathryn Bernardo was seen in a recording of a Christmas song - an act that Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) believe is a “pagan” celebration and is forbidden for its members to participate in.
Her decision to endorse the presidential bid of administration standard bearer Mar Roxas has sent some tongues wagging about the possibility that she’s already been expelled as a member of Iglesia ni Cristo since it requires its members to vote as one, in line with the church's teachings and as a form of unity.
A certain Daniel Gullos, purportedly an INC minister, also denied in a Facebook post that Bernardo’s endorsement of Roxas had the church’s blessing because she is already a disfellowshipped (tiwalag) member of their church.
“Walang katotohanan na may basbas ng Iglesia ni Cristo ang pag-eendorso ni Kathryn kay Mar dahil siya ay isang tiwalag na,” Gullos said.
The ‘Teen Queen’ is yet to release a statement about the status of her affiliation with INC.
